The LEED for New Construction rating system is comprised 8 prerequisites, and 110 points, which are earned by aligning a project with credit requirements. Achievement of any prerequisite or credit typically requires input from multiple design team members, calculations, and the completion of verification documentation. It is CDML‟s experience that there are thousands of tasks and documents that require completion prior to achieving LEED Certification at any level; a project management challenge indeed.
In response to this challenge CDML has developed a proprietary project management software tool; VAULT. A screen shot of the tool above shows how we utilize VAULT to track the status, next steps, and required documentation for each LEED prerequisite and targeted credit. VAULT also has built in "single click" reporting functionality allowing us to generate "best-in-market" LEED scorecards, and assessment reports. Further, VAULT has been designed to allow us to generate "Consultant Next Step Reports" which provide all project team members a concise list of the next steps they are required to complete. In summary VAULT provides our clients confidence that their project is on track with respect to LEED from concept through to project completion and makes the LEED certification process as simple as possible for all involved.
VAULT is just one way CDML is living up to our mission of "Refining What is Possible".
