CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory (CANMET-MTL), located in Hamilton, Ontario, is a division of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). It is among the largest research centres in Canada with an over 100-person technical staff of scientists and technicians. The project incorporates numerous sustainability technologies including a 704 m2 Solar Wall installation, 209 roof solar thermal panels, radiant heating and cooling, displacement ventilation systems with heat recovery, and grey water harvesting and reuse. The project is a candidate for LEED Platinum accreditation. The CANMET project was featured on the cover of Construction Canada's May 2011 issue.
